Our Unique Educational Process

Field Learning Activities (aka Field Trips)

Nature Exploration: Enjoy trips to parks, nature reserves, and other natural habitats to study environmental science and biology, and grow a love and appreciation of nature
Historical Site Visits: Explore local historical sites and museums to learn about the rich history of Ohio and the world, including cultural heritage and international events
Community Engagement: Gain valuable opportunities to participate in community service projects, understanding the value of giving back and social responsibility
Industry Tours: Visit businesses and industries to learn about various careers, technological advancements, and the application of traditional school subject areas in everyday life in the real world

In-Person Classes

Structured Learning: Participate in consistent group, in-person class instruction appealing to a diverse population of students with varying interest areas
Interactive Lessons: Experience hands-on activities, group projects, discussions, and training, encouraging collaboration and active participation all throughout learning
Social Development: Provide opportunities for children to interact with peers, develop social skills, and build lasting friendships

Physical Education Time

Team-Building Experience: Encourage collaboration and communication through teams and group activities of both free play and organized instruction
Mental & Physical Stimulation: Enhance brain function, strengthen muscles and improve cardiovascular health while boosting overall mood and confidence levels
Goal-Setting & Perseverance: Develop skills to set realistic personal goals, learn persistence and perseverance, and prepare to overcome obstacles in life

Family Involvement & Home Education

Instruction Assistance: Help to determine a personal learning path to implement at home, in turn providing a dynamic and well-rounded educational partnership
Activity Support: Experience Field Learning Activities alongside your child and optionally volunteer time with In-Person Classes and special projects and events
Resource Development: Participate in the creation of educational materials and resources, enhancing the learning environment, further unifying our community

We formed a school in 2024 officially recognized by ODEW!

Our affiliated school, Lakeview Academy, is recognized as a Non-Chartered, Non-Public (NCNP) School by the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce. The Department does not regulate any curriculum used by any children enrolled with us either while in our presence or at home. However, we are committed to ensuring a comprehensive education is provided to students on this school's roster that includes:

Language arts; geography, U.S. and Ohio history, and government; mathematics; science; health; physical education; fine arts, including music; first aid, safety, and fire prevention; plus other learning opportunities as they arise.

Since we believe learning these subject areas can happen naturally throughout everyday life, there are more than 4,000 hours per year that your children learn about the world around them if they are awake 12 hours per day. This is how we know our students exceed the minimum hours of learning required for families enrolled in NCNP schools in Ohio. (And we have a lot of fun along the way!)

Lakeview Academy can also handle the necessary reporting to local districts for your children ages 5 (before Jan. 1) to 18 each year, ensuring compliance with laws related to compulsory education and the employment of minors—plus making families eligible to receive the Ohio NCNP tax credit of either $1,000 or $1,500!
